Description
As always, borderline cases, where differences are seen are - the Lumia 1020 HAAC microphones, stereo can absorb volume without distortion at rock concert - the S5 are able, but not quite at that level (although I will try this to test properly on the next festival) And, as a professional for the Galaxy S5, it can capture even at 4K resolution, so it might be more future-proof, should really take off this higher resolution - but that's another article for another day.
There is another factor that I touch in the video - visibility of smartphone screens outdoors. After all, if you are shooting, especially in sunlight, some smartphones (cough - the Oppo Find 7a and various Huawei devices have me here in a bad way can) have screens that rotate in the mirror and - quite literally - can 't see what you are photographing. In contrast, the displays on both the Galaxy and S5 Lumia 1020 showed verizon admirable clarity and contrast, even in direct sunlight, a true testament to the R & D capabilities of Samsung and Nokia in this area.
Using a physically larger sensor and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) from Nokia is the 1020 the edge in total here, but the gap to the competition as the S5 narrows here, and I welcome the use of a larger sensor from Samsung (as in the S4 ) and the introduction of ISOCELL technology.
