Description
It seems that, at least in some circumstances, Java 8 will prevent the AEIU from checking out the AEI.

Looks like another case of the same problem has been reported, though downgrading to Java 7 supposedly did not fix it: "The item 'javaw.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly."

Last two comments actually just refer to the AEI shortcuts being outdated, shouldn't happen with future installs as it always uses the local JRE.
On J8 breaking anything: Not able to reproduce so far.

Since it's been a year and we haven't heard more reports of issues, and the original reported problem was always vague to begin with, and it works for me in Java 8, I'm going to close this.
While Java 8 worked in my own test in Windows 7 x64, we have an additional report of a problem from Samer, which is that the AEI itself (having already been installed by the AEIU under J7) could not run under Java 8. Something about "can't find javaw.exe".
